New Families Guide

New Families Guide
Welcome to Redeemer School!
We are so excited to have your family join our wonderful school community. This quick guide will provide you with essential information to help you prepare for the 2023-2024 school year and ensure your family has the best possible experience.
Teacher Emails
Our goal is to make school feel like an extension of the home. Our teachers partner with parents to create lifelong learners who are excited to participate in the classroom. Lower school parents will receive a weekly email from teachers describing the exciting things your child will learn that week. Middle School parents will receive a weekly email on Sunday to summarize the coming week and beyond. All parents will also receive a monthly teacher newsletter with important dates, field trips, and new learning concepts or lessons that will be introduced.
Redeemer School Weekly Newsletter
Check your email each Monday morning for the Redeemer School weekly email newsletter, featuring important messages from our Head of School, information about upcoming events, updates to our Chrysalis Fund, and all the exciting things that are happening at our school.
Emergency and Inclement Weather Communication
In the event of an emergency or inclement weather, we communicate with parents, faculty, and staff by email and text message. Messages are sent using the current contact information for your family in the FACTS Portal. Watch for a test message sent at the beginning of the school year!
School Mission
Redeemer School is a community of like-minded families committed to nurturing students in their relationship with Jesus Christ and engaging them in the lifelong pursuit of wisdom and knowledge as they discover, embrace and integrate God’s truth in all of life.

FACTS Portal
Parents of incoming Redeemer students have access to our FACTS Parent Portal. This portal features links to family contact information, student medical information, financial information, and important school forms.
Medical Portal
Parents are asked to submit medical forms before the first day of school. New medical forms can be found in the FACTS Parent Portal.
School Delays & Closings
In the event of school delay or closure, families will be notified by text and/or email.
School Supplies
There are no back-to-school supply lists for students in TK-5th grade. We do ask each student to bring a book bag, snack/lunch, and water bottle to school each day. Students entering Middle School will be asked to provide a limited number of supplies for the school year.
Snacks & Lunch
Students must bring snacks and lunch from home. There are microwaves available for students to use during their lunch time. Students may also participate in the Chick-Fil-a lunch program on Fridays and the Papa John’s lunch program on Mondays. Watch the Redeemer School Newsletter for more information!
School Spirit
We encourage students to wear Redeemer School t-shirts every Friday. Help us cheer on our Redeemer School Rams by showing your school spirit!
Chapel
Redeemer students participate in all-school chapels every other Wednesday. Each grade leads one chapel per year. Parents are encouraged to watch their child’s class and invited to a pre-chapel coffee social. The pre-chapel social begins at 8:15 and chapel begins at 8:45 am.
Enrichment Day (“E-Day”) Training
Parents in grades K-5 are asked to teach a specified topic to your child’s class twice a year. E-day’s are typically scheduled on Fridays and depending on the grade may happen in the morning or early afternoon. One parent must attend an E-day training in September. (Registration coming soon!)

Volunteer
There are many ways to get involved at Redeemer School! We ask that each family commits to 40 hours of volunteer work for our school. The opportunities are varied—you can sign up to be a class parent, weed/water the gardens, bake for a special school event, make copies for teachers, etc.!
Chrysalis Fund
Since the earliest days of Redeemer School, we have benefited from the generous support of current families, grandparents, alumni, faculty, and staff who have joined to invest in educational excellence rooted in the gospel. All gifts made to the Chrysalis Fund support every aspect of a student’s experience including tuition assistance. There is no gift too small! We ask you to consider how you might be able to support this fund.
